2013-04-02

Hello everybody!
We told you last week that more horses are coming in April! Here's some additional information coming from Star Stables Game Director Marcus Thorell:

When will it be possible to have more than one horse?
We are almost ready! The ability to have more than one horse in planned for release in April. We are testing it right now and We are hoping to put it live as soon as possible.

Where do I buy a new horse and how does it work?
The first twelve horses that will be released with the first update are planned to be placed at few different locations. Different breeds will be placed at Fort Pinta, Marley's Stables outside Silverglade Village, Valedale, and at Firgrove. You can click on the individual horses to get more information about them. In the information window about the horse there will be a button to purchase the horse and a price for that particular horse. When you buy a horse it will be automatically transported to your Home Stable. The horse will vanish from the store, but another of that colour and breed will be back the next time you log into the game so it is possible to have more than one of the same kind of horse if you like.

IMPORTANT: To ride you new horse you will need to travel to your home stable, where you will find the new horse ready to be tacked up! You do not have to be a Star Rider to buy a new horse, but horses can only be purchased with Star Coins.

How many horses can I have?
You can have a total of six horses on one account. In addition to your original horse there is space in your stable for five new horses.

What does a new horse cost?
Horses have prices between 300 and 1500 Star Coins. These prices may change.

Is it possible to sell horses?
You will not be able to sell your original horse, but new horses you have bought can be sold at stables around Jorvik. Currently you will receive a few thousand Jorvik Shillings for a horse, so this is not really a good business deal. Selling a horse does free up a space in your stable. All equipment needs to be removed from a horse before it can be sold.

What horses will be for sale?
The first horses released are all going to start at level 1 and are based on 14 different breeds. Three breeds will be available the first week with more coming later. Breeds requiring unique models will be coming in the future. A service is also planned for you to be able to style the mane of your horse. You will be able to pick between the four styles that will be available at the start. (You will not be able to change the colur of your horse's mane.) The first four breeds that are planned for release are Danish Warmbloods, English Warmbloods, Dutch Warmbloods, and Morgans.

These breeds will be available in three base appearances at the start:
  • Danish Warmblood (first week)
  • English Thoroughbred (first week)
  • DutchWarmblood (first week)
  • Morgan (first week)
The breeds that will be available in the near future are:
  • Westphalian

  • American Paint Horse - Tobiano
  • Morab
  • Oldenburg
  • Selle Francais
